Getting Worse?

Are things really getting worse? Do teenagers today face worse days than those of the sixties and seventies did? Your answer might depend on where you live. I think that life is better in Soldotna, Alaska in the 2000’s than in Lanham, Maryland in the 1970’s. What do you think?

Regardless how we compare the past with now, I have come to believe that we get no benefit from doing the comparison.  So many political, educational, religious and cultural movements try to raise money by showing how much worse things are now and giving their reasons why it was better “back then.”  I don’t listen anymore.

What does God command? —- “Do not say, ‘Why were the old days better than these?’ For it is not wise to ask such questions.” (Ecclesiastes 7:10)

Some of these puns are getting positively painful. Also, I get the above pun. I didn’t think I was that old!

  2. Hey Pastor Dan… do you still happen to have that music you offered to me? Cause that would be awesome!! The pastor’s wife talked to me this past sunday about doing special music this summer while i’m home. I’m excited!
